    Recently, the ecological and environmental departments of Jiangsu and Shandong provinces held a joint meeting on law enforcement linkage and carried out joint law enforcement actions.

    In order to deepen the joint prevention, control and law enforcement of ecological environment in administrative border areas, we will severely crack down on environmental violations and crimes of hazardous waste across administrative regions.

    This meeting is the first joint meeting and joint law enforcement action organized by Jiangsu Province and neighboring provinces after the establishment of the inter provincial joint law enforcement mechanism and provincial supervision mechanism for hazardous wastes. It is a practical measure to jointly prevent and control environmental pollution in administrative border areas and jointly crack down on cross regional environmental violations and crimes. It is of great significance to ensure the ecological environment security of administrative border areas.

    Meeting determination

    For the cases of illegal transfer, dumping and disposal of hazardous wastes across provinces, the municipal ecological environment bureau where the case occurred and the relevant municipal ecological environment bureaus of neighboring provinces shall jointly study and judge, timely take effective measures to crack down on illegal crimes, properly dispose of environmental pollution and jointly safeguard the people's environmental rights and interests.

    ■ first, do a good job in the investigation, treatment and emergency disposal of pollution sources within their respective administrative areas, and timely report the treatment results to relevant provinces and cities;

    ■ second, in case of environmental violations under the jurisdiction of neighboring provinces, send letters to relevant ecological and environmental departments in time, hand over relevant clues and assist in relevant work;

    ■ third, carry out joint rectification and joint law enforcement for enterprises with unclear boundaries and scattered pollution, and resolutely do not give opportunities to criminals.

    After the meeting, the law enforcement officers of the two provinces inspected the case scene in Tancheng County, Linyi City, and studied and deployed the next step of case investigation and handling and the elimination of potential environmental risks.

    Next, Jiangsu Province will rely on the law enforcement linkage agreement in administrative border areas, deeply implement the inter provincial joint law enforcement mechanism for hazardous waste, strengthen the joint law enforcement of hazardous waste across administrative regions, investigate and deal with illegal acts according to law through joint prevention and co governance, properly dispose of hazardous waste, eliminate environmental pollution and safeguard the people's environmental rights and interests.
